Scott Heberling, Senior Historical Archaeologist and President of Heberling Associates, Inc., served as Moderator and Presenter at the "Linear Resources" session held as part of the Statewide Conference on Heritage in Harrisburg, May 18-20, 2010. He spoke about the development and interpretation of the Lewistown Narrows Canal Park in Mifflin and Juniata Counties, PA.

The Lewistown Narrows Canal Park won Preservation Pennsylvania’s 2009 Ralph Modjeski Award for Excellence in Transportation Design, Preservation and Archaeology. Heberling Associates, Inc., PennDOT District 2-0, and The EADS Group, Inc.

Heberling Associates, Inc. and PennDOT District 9-0 received the 2007 PennsylvaniaHistoric Preservation Award for the Blacklog Narrows at U.S. 522 project near Orbisonia, Huntingdon County.

Heberling Associates, Inc. was the winner of the prestigious 2006 Federal Highway Administration/Pennsylvania Division Transportation and Historic Preservation Excellence Award in recognition of the company’s Phase III archaeological data recovery studies at Site 36JU104 completed in connection with the U.S. Route 22 Lewistown Narrows highway improvement project.
